Data plans
The Xe Currency Data API is offered as a free trial plus four annual plans. Plans differ in three main ways:
- Rate refresh frequency — how often your rates update
- Monthly rate requests — how many rates you can retrieve each month (each rate returned = one request)
- Optional data & add-ons — extra rate types you can switch on: alternative source rates, live (minutely) rates, central bank exchange & interest rates (Core) and bid & ask (Beta)
Add-ons have published pricing; Bid & ask (Beta) can be enabled by any customer for free. All prices are in USD per year.

Central bank rates
Central bank access depends on your plan:
- Intermediate, Prime and Enterprise include central bank exchange rates through the V1 endpoint,
central_bank_rate. - Core doesn't include central bank rates. Add the Central bank exchange & interest rates add-on to use the V2 endpoints,
v2/central_bank, which return exchange rates and interest rates. - The free trial doesn't include central bank rates.
Any account can call v2/central_bank/metadata to list the supported central banks. It doesn't count towards your rate requests.
Bid & ask rates (Beta)
Bid & ask (buy/sell) rates are available to all customers at no extra cost. Enable them yourself on the Bid & Ask (Beta) page in the web application. There is no need to contact sales. As it's in Beta, enabling it also adds 2,500 requests/month to your allowance. (bid_ask)

Free trial
Start with a free trial to explore the API before choosing a plan. It provides daily-refreshed data and includes historic and alternative source rates so you can evaluate the full range (historic data is limited to the 90 days from service start date on the trial).
